Although mainly intended for students interested to major in sciences, effort is made to select stand-alone content, presented so that it could be accessible to those specializing in other areas as well. The main objective is to present students with practical, stimulating opportunities to experience English as a vehicular language (lingua franca) that future graduates will use for integrating into a multidisciplinary society and contributing to its technological advancement. Students will be challenged on two fronts: (i) comprehension of the studied Physics topics and (ii) mastering the use of appropriate English language to describe them from various scientifically-valid perspectives, analyze problems, provide solutions and envision applications. Participation in interactive activities with instructor and classmates: 30% Individual Assignments: 70% W While emphasis in evaluation will not be on the mastering of the Physics content itself, highest grades will require a good performance with respec 教科書は使用しない。／Will not use textbook 特に行わない。／Will not conduct guidance Pronunciation and Listening 形式：第1週はオンライン（Zoom）で、それ以降は教室で行なう。 概要：英語発音とリスニング力の向上を目指すクラスである。特に発音訓練に重点をおくため、「発音だけには自信がなく、自分が話した英語が聞き手に通じにくい」と感じている人が履修することをお勧めする。主に、発音記号に沿って注意すべき英語音声について学び、ひとつずつ発音練習をしていく。加えて、英語独特の音の連結、消失、弱化やイントネーション、リズムを学び、リスニングの訓練を行う。また、聞き手に理解してもらえるように、文章の音読やプレゼンテーションを行う。 目標：英語を聞き、話す際に重要である英語音声の基礎知識を習得し、実践で活かせる力をつけることが本授業の目的である。将来、国際的な場において英語で発信、発表するための確かな道具を手に入れよう。本授業の到達目標は次の通りである。（１）英語音声を正しく理解し、発音できるようになる。（２）日本人にとって紛らわしい英語発音を聞き分けられるようになる。（３）専門用語を含む英文を、発音記号を調べ、正しく音読できるようになる。（４）英語リスニング力を向上させる。 ・個別発音テスト40%、リスニングテスト20%、単語テストとレポート20%、授業参加（出席、プレゼンテーションを含む）20% を総合して評価する予定である。 ・個別発音テストにおいては44問中35問以上正しく発音できることが必要である。 ・感染症対策など、状況によっては評価方法を多少変更しなくてはいけない場合もあるが、個別発音テストに一番大きなウエートが置かれることは変わらない。 次の教科書を使用する。／Will use the following textbook 鷲見由理 DVD＆CDでマスター 英語の発音が正しくなる本 ナツメ社 13: 978-4816344640 特に行わない。／Will not conduct guidance 授業科目名 授業科目名 担当教員 リチンスキ ダン 担当教員 所属 曜限 英語 所属 曜限 英語 対象 対象
