In class, students will discuss topics related to Japanese youth, namely gender equality, LGBT issues and sexual harassment, and compare how Japan and other countries perceive these issues. At the end of the course, students will collect data on a topic covered in class through readings or interviews/surveys and write a report about it. このクラスでは、日本の若者について英語で書かれた学術文献を読みます。内容は、ジェンダー平等・同性婚・セクシャルハラスメント等で、日本と諸外国がこれらの問題をどのように捉えているかを比較、議論します。また、授業で触れた内容について実際に文献かインタビュー・アンケート等でデータ収集をして、最終レポートを書きます。 Active class participation, including class discussions (25%) Weekly assignments (15%) Group work (10%) Presentation (15%) Research report (35%) 教科書は使用しない。／Will not use textbook 特に行わない。／Will not conduct guidance The Terminal Steven Spielberg監督、Tom Hanks主演の2004年アメリカ映画The Terminalを教材とする。自然な英語を聞き取り、大意をつかみ、自分の言葉で内容や感想を伝える練習をする。映像によってストーリーの理解に努めた後で、スクリプトを読み進めながら理解できなかった部分を確認する。英語細部の追求より、物語の展開、何がおかしくてどこが悲しいのか、登場人物と共に笑ったり泣いたりできるような、映画を楽しむための英語理解を目指す。 毎週の授業参加とクイズ（ディクテーション）、期末試験。欠席は3回までとし、4回以上の場合は理由に関わらず単位を認定しない。 プリントを配布する。／Will distribute handouts 特に行わない。／Will not conduct guidance 授業科目名 授業科目名 担当教員 担当教員 中澤 恒子 所属 曜限 英語 所属 曜限 英語 対象 理二三(10) 対象 理二三(10)
