時間割コード 60099 Ａ２ 英語中級(クラス指定ターム型) 時間割コード 60100 Ａ２ 英語中級(クラス指定ターム型) 時間割コード 60101 Ａ２ 英語中級(クラス指定ターム型) 講義題目 授業の目標概要 講義題目 授業の目標概要 講義題目 授業の目標概要 開講 開講 開講 黒人自由闘争から眺める現代アメリカ 1930年代以降全米各地で展開した黒人自由闘争は、アフリカ系アメリカ人の生活を大きく変えただけでなく、アメリカ社会を根底から揺さぶり再編するものだった。南北戦争終結以降も「二級市民」としての地位を押しつけられてきたアメリカ黒人たちが自らの権利を求め立ち上がった運動の歴史について、関連する文献を読み学ぶ。今学期はとくにブラック・ライヴズ・マター運動の展開を扱った文献の講読を通して、語彙、成句、パラグラフの構成や展開等を学び、英文読解力を向上させるとともに、関連するドキュメンタリー等を視聴し、背景となるアメリカの黒人自由闘争と現代アメリカの歴史、社会、文化についての理解を深める。 Discussing Contemporary Society with Critical Theories この授業の目標は、現代社会における様々な問題を英語で批評的に考え、議論できる素地を作ることです。ナショナリズムやレイシズム、ジェンダー、ポストコロニアル、環境、ケアといった批評理論の英語で書かれた／英訳された基礎的文献に触れ、そこから得られた知⾒を活⽤して、現代社会で起こっている出来事をどのように捉えられるかを議論します。 The Ghost Story: Describing spaces of the supernatural This short, term course will introduce students to key figures of supernatural horror writing, exploring the ways in which writers have tried to imagine and describe the ‘ghostly’ world that surrounds them. You will think about how the figure of the ghost (and the spaces it haunts) has had an impact on the way we think about and describe our relationship to place, history and society. The course is designed to help you think critically about ghost stories and how they describe people's fears, anxieties and experiences of the landscapes they live in. A number of short readings will provide opportunities for in-class discussion and develop your comprehension of the English text itself.
