(国際・地域) 時間割コード 50957 時間割コード 51023 時間割コード 50863 総合科目 B 講義題目 授業の目標概要 講義題目 授業の目標概要 講義題目 授業の目標概要 開講 Ａ 現代国際社会論 開講 Ａ 現代国際社会論 開講 Ａ 現代アフリカの政治と国際関係 【概要】 現代のサハラ以南アフリカの政治や国際関係について多角的に学ぶ概説的授業である。アフリカの歴史や風土に関する導入ののち、各回の講義で、国家、紛争、開発、民主主義、グローバル化、人間の安全保障といった政治学や国際関係論の基本的な概念やテーマを取り上げ、これらを軸に、独立から今日に至るアフリカの国家と国際関係の特徴や変容を、アフリカ内の多様性にも留意しながら、コンパクトに解説していく。 【目標】 アフリカは、近年世界の中で急速に重要性を増す地域のひとつである。この講義では、アフリカが直面してきた多様な課題や問題を取り上げることで、学生がこの地域を多角的に理解するための見取り図を構築していくきっかけを提供したい。また、国家や民主主義、グロー バル化といった政治学や国際関係論の基礎的な概念をアフリカの文脈において具体化・操作化することで、アフリカのみならず、政治や国際関係全般に対する見方も豊かにしてもらいたい。 国際秩序と地域秩序の変容 現代の国際社会とはどのようなものだろうか。現代の国際関係は、過去の国際関係とは何が変化し、何が変化していないのだろうか。このような問題関心から、本授業は「国際社会」という概念を手掛かりとして現代国際秩序の特質について概説する。 そのために授業ではまず我々が日常的に使う「国際社会」とは一体何を意味しているかを考察することから始め、主権国家体制や国際社会の在り方の変化について、歴史的・理論的に理解する。その上で、現代の国際秩序について特にグローバル・ガバナンスという視座から、安全保障や経済、環境、人権などの各領域を取り上げて解説し、さらに地域統合により国際関係や国家の意味が大きく変化している欧州統合、EUの事例を取り上げる。これらを通し、現代国際社会について、その特質と課題を理解し、その行方について考える手がかりを得てもらうことがこの授業の目的である。 AUSTRALIAN DEMOCRACY TODAY Understanding a country’s politics can tell us a lot about its culture and identity. By the early 20th Century, Australia was known internationally as a modern democratic experiment. It was one of the first places in the world to give most men and women the vote and allow them to stand for parliament, to pay parliamentarians a salary, to elect a ‘labour’ government representing working people and to make voting compulsory. These experiments in democracy were limited by the exclusion of some people (particularly Indigenous people) and by some more conservative elements in the political system. One hundred years later, what does Australian democracy look like? Has Australian democracy adapted successfully to major changes in Australian identity, such as the shift to a multicultural population? Are Australian democratic institutions and processes able to address the great challenges of our time, such as climate change, socio-economic inequality, the Covid 19 pandemic, and technological change? This course provides a brief introduction to contemporary Australian democracy to help students answer these questions. Students will engage with key features of Australian democratic institutions and processes via lectures, class discussions and activities, audiovisual and digital materials, and introductory academic readings to provide varied exposure to Australian material. The focus will be on what is distinctive about Australian democracy. Wherever possible, the course coverage will be related to current events in Australian politics. The course will provide an English language teaching environment designed to encourage development of learning, reading and writing skills in English, as well as an experience of Australian educational styles.
