The course itself is built around a reading book which addresses the topic of consciousness from an unusual perspective and provides readers with plenty to think about. For all but the first (introduction) and last (review) class meetings, students will be assigned a number of pages to read before coming to class, and in class they will need to write an essay related to the reading assignment; the final class meeting will comprise a review of the course and most likely will require an essay summarizing it. 開講 授業科目名 （クラス指定セメスター型） Let's read and discuss 開講 授業科目名 （クラス指定セメスター型） Gender and youth in Japan ジェンダーから見る日本の若者 The aim of this course is to enable students to read and critically engage with academic articles written in English about gender issues. In class, students will discuss topics related to Japanese youth, namely gender, sexuality and bodies.
