1年 文一二(5,12,16)文三(18) 金 3 1年 文一二(5,12,16)文三(18) 金 3 1年 文一二(5,12,16)文三(18) 金 3 時間割コード 時間割コード 時間割コード 英語中級（クラス指定セメスター型）金3 総合科目Ｌ 英語中級・上級 50974 Ａ 講義題目 授業の目標概要 50975 Ａ 講義題目 授業の目標概要 この授業では20世紀の英語圏のノーベル賞クラスの作家の短編をいくつか精読し、２０世紀ヨーロッパの歴史や新しい文学形式に注意を向けながら、英語の読解力増進を図ります。精読の授業ですので、細かいニュアンスも含めてすべてを訳出していきます。その過程で、英語の表現に関して辞書を丹念に調べたり、文脈に応じての意味をじっくり考えたりする訓練をします。 50976 Ａ 講義題目 授業の目標概要 テレビにラジオ、映画に新聞、FacebookにTwitter、LINEにInstagram...。私たちは日々さまざまなメディアやSNSに触れ、四方から溢れてくる情報に常に晒されている。この英語中級・プレゼンテーションの授業では、普段は「メディアの受け手」となっている私たちの役割を「メディアの作り手」に切り替え、メディアとSNSを通じていかに相手に考えを伝えればよいのか、またどのように自分を表現すればよいのかを学ぶ。 具体的には、パワーポイントを用いた発表から出発して、Podcastや簡単な動画作り、アニメのアフレコなどを行う。プレゼンテーションのあとには、クラスメートがコメントをする時間を設けて、コミュニケーションがとれているか否かをクラス全体の議論のなかで確認してもらう。 説得力のあるプレゼンテーションを行える「よいメディアの作り手」になるためには、既存のメディアを批判的思考をもって捉えることのできる、つまり「よいメディアの受け手」になることも重要である。そこで、この授業はプレゼンテーションに特化したものではあるが、講師が理論の説明や時事問題の解説を適宜行う。簡単なリーディング・リスニング課題を出す場合もある。 また、クラス専用のInstagramアカウントを作成し、授業日誌をつけることで、クラスではなく社会に向けた発信も行い、メディアリテラシーの総合的向上を目指す。 最後に、この授業の目標は、クラスメート全員の英語プレゼンテーションを見聞きすることで、自分が授業履修前にもっていたメディアやSNSに対する認識を変化させ、さらに、自身の新たな側面（英語プレゼンテーションの手法・技巧）を発見することである。 開講 授業科目名 （クラス指定セメスター型） 開講 授業科目名 （クラス指定セメスター型） 短編小説を読む 開講 授業科目名 （クラス指定セメスター型） Exploring the Human Condition through Dialogs The objectives are to get some practice using the English language by reading dialogs in which the speakers talk about important or interesting issues, writing answers to questions about chapter contents, and either preparing oral presentations and performing in front of the class or (in the event of the course having to be online) writing essays. In regard to content, the course is built around a textbook which contains dialogs that touch on subjects related to education, the natural sciences, the humanities, the social sciences, and technology; the chapters include a two-page dialog, a photograph with a thought-provoking caption, a written exchange between the editor and author of the book, and five general questions. For all but the first class meeting (which will serve primarily as an introduction to the course), students will be assigned one or two chapters in the textbook to read before coming to class, and during class time there will be two graded activities: (1) writing answers to a set of questions in the book or otherwise related to the assigned chapter(s), and (2) working in small groups to prepare and make oral presentations based on selected themes, topics, or questions related to the chapter(s) or (in the event of the course having to be online) writing an essay based on the same.
