Discussion in class will be used to help with comprehension and to promote the active use of English. The course will include topics such as relationships, social protests and immigration. Texts will include extracts from a contemporary British play, newspaper articles, political manifestos and extracts from academic texts. Gender and youth cultures in Japan ジェンダーから見る日本の若者文化 The aim of this course is to enable students to read and critically engage with academic articles written about gender issues in English. In class, students will discuss topics related to Japanese youth, namely gender, sexuality and pop culture.
