The reading texts will be chosen from discussions that have taken place in the comments sections of the Hacker News website. The writing will take the form of online discussions among students using a similar text-based BBS. The topics for both the readings and the students’ written discussions will be chosen based on students' interests. (While most of the discussions on Hacker News are about technical, IT-related topics, we will focus on discussions of more general topics.) Reading English Articles: US Culture The goal is to read English articles (from The New Yorker) to understand current issues in the U.S. in English. They are on US Culture. Students need to read them in six weeks.
