In other words, we will study "Cli-Fi." Climate change is usually addressed from scientific, political, or social issues (e.g. poverty or food scarcity) perspectives, but in reality climate change and global warming have been important to science fiction since the turn of the 20th century. Through discussions, presentations, and written work, students will focus on how to approach climate change from an interdisciplinary standpoint, and develop their ideas about what steps society needs to take in the future. Contemporary Japanese society in English academic texts 学術文献から見る現代日本社会 The aim of this course is to enable students to read and critically engage with academic articles written in English.
