Students may use an existing program to do that, but it sometimes more efficient to write a new program. We will teach how to do that using a programming language, called Ruby, at the first part of this course. Then, in the second part, we will discuss how to reduce the running time of your program. The program with small running time will have a big advantage when your information is large. To process some information, we may have to write a complicated program. We can avoid that by making our computer "learn" that complicated program by themselves.
