By the end of this class, students will be able to present and discuss issues in a researched and structured manner. We will study advertising campaigns from TV, the Internet and print media, discover the sales messages contained in these and how they reach their consumer targets. We will also research the way similar products are marketed differently for different cultures or countries. In addition, we will evaluate the way different societies use PSAs (Public Service Announcements) to raise awareness of important issues such as Domestic Violence (DV), HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, etc. Topics covered will include: - TV Commercial Strategies - Print Advertisements Design Analysis - PSAs, NGOs and lobbying - Advertising controversies (political advertising, advertising tobacco and alcohol, advertising to children, gender and racial stereotypes in advertising.) 30%: Digital Portfolio 20%: Learning Journal 10%: Report on Museum Visit 20%: Presentation 20%: Active contribution to the class 教科書は使用しない。／Will not use textbook 特に行わない。／Will not conduct guidance 開講 授業科目名 （クラス指定セメスター型） グローバル・イシューについて考える 講義題目 授業の目標概要 本授業では、英米圏における国際関係論（国際政治学）の学部生向け教科書として使用されることも多いテキスト『The Globalization of World Politics (edited by John Baylis et al., 2020, Oxford University Press) 』に掲載された「グローバル・イシュー」に関する各章の読解を行なっていく。 この作業を通じて、本授業の受講者は、今日世界的に重要な問題として知られる様々なテーマ（具体的には、地球環境問題、難民・移民問題、テロリズムなど）についての概要を把握したうえで、こうした諸問題の具体的な解決策を考察するための素養を身に付けることができる。またこれらの問題について、他者との基礎的な意見交換が英語を用いてできるようになる。 平常点（30％）：授業内における貢献度などに応じて、総合的に評価する。 プレゼンテーション（30％）：各受講者には最低でも学期中に１回の英語によるプレゼンテーションを課す（その回数は、受講生の数による）。なおそのプレゼンテーションは、発表する日の前の回で扱ったテキストの内容の概略を、パワーポイントを使用して発表するものとする。 テスト（40%）：学期中に２回行なう「内容確認テスト」の獲得スコアに応じて、配点を行なう。 プリントを配布する。／Will distribute handouts 特に行わない。／Will not conduct guidance 開講 授業科目名 （クラス指定セメスター型） 講義題目 ミュージカルの台本を読む 授業の目標概要 プッチーニのオペラ『蝶々夫人』の舞台を現代ベトナムに置き換えたミュージカル『ミス・サイゴン』（今年5月から帝劇で上演予定）の台本を再演の舞台映像を見ながら読む。制作スタッフに取材した英文資料を参照して、作品分析を行う。また、ベトナム戦争の時代背景について学び、欧米の視点から見たアジアについての問題点についても考察する。 試験の成績に出席、平常点を加味する。 プリントを配布する。／Will distribute handouts 特に行わない。／Will not conduct guidance 英語中級 英語中級 英語中級 担当教員 所属 曜限 メズールール ジェルマン 英語 月 3 担当教員 所属 曜限 愛甲 雄一 英語 月 3 担当教員 所属 曜限 岩崎 徹 英語 月 3 教室 教室 教室 対象 対象 対象
