We will start by examining the multifaceted character of global environmental justice and how it combines with emergent approaches such as Earth Jurisprudence, critical environmental law, eco-global criminology, and Earth system governance. Then, we will explore how the concept is used by different stakeholders in a variety of contexts. In so doing, we will reflect on the development of innovative platforms (such as the International Rights of Nature Tribunal) and new adjudication processes, from climate change litigation to ecocide. Through short interactive lectures, case studies, and role-play simulations, we will engage in a critical examination of the role played by courts in the shaping of global environmental governance. Evaluation is based on active participation to classroom discussions and team-based learning activities as described above (60%). In addition, students are asked to write two short individual essays (mid-term and final) (40%). 教科書は使用しない。/Will not use textbook 特に行わない。/Will not conduct guidance This course is designed to demonstrate how mathematical concepts that U. Tokyo students have learned in their pure mathematics classes are used and applied in advanced studies in the natural and social sciences. Understanding applications of mathematics in the sciences allows students to understand what they have learned more deeply, and helps them to realize the importance of mathematics for their advanced studies in the Senior Division programs. The course is delivered by three instructors from different fields of expertise, presenting three stories of the use of mathematics. Each part focuses on particular mathematical ideas and methods and gives examples of where they can be applied. The fields of academic discipline and topics are the following: Part I (chemical and environmental engineering). Process modeling and control: Mathematical modelling and control systems related to industrial and environmental processes. Part II (physics / chemistry). The mathematical description of quantum mechanics: Complex linear vector spaces and bra-ket notation and their application in describing the fundamental property of spin. Part III (mathematical economics). Dynamic optimization and economic decision: Finding optimal lifelong consumption-savings plan. Grading for this course is based on those of three parts. Part I: Assignments, attendance and participation Part II: Assignments, quizzes, attendance and participation Part III: In-class quizzes and attendance 授業中に指示をする。/Will specify at class time 特に行わない。/Will not conduct guidance (PEAK) (PEAK) 担当教員 ジロドウ イザベル 担当教員 PEAK前期 水 4 PEAK前期 火 2 所属 所属 曜限 教室 曜限 教室 517 118 対象 対象
