We also often need to know how to respond appropriately and constructively to presentations by others and take part in discussions. A lot of people find these activities stressful, especially if the language that is used is not their own first language. This course aims to give the participants practice in making and responding to oral presentations in English. Each student will make three English-language presentations during the course and all students are expected to participate actively in class discussions. Grades will be calculated according to this system. Attendance is required and you will lose 1% each time you are absent or late to class. Presentations max: 60% (10% for the 1st, 20% for the 2nd, 30% for the 3rd) Active participation max: 20% Written work max. 20% (1 essay of about 500 words, based on the final presentation) TOTAL 100% There will be no final examination. 教科書は使用しない。/Will not use textbook 特に行わない。/Will not conduct guidance Albert Einstein once said that “creative imagination” is central to scientific progress. Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs, like many business leaders nowadays, likewise stressed that creativity differentiates average individuals and companies from exceptional ones. As important as creativity is said to be in today’s competitive global economy, what the creative process requires or involves is usually left unexplained. This course, therefore, aims to familiarize participants with what creative thinking entails, why it is important, where it comes from, and how individuals can improve their critical faculties to enable them to thrive in our era of rapid technological, social, political and economic change. By the end of the course students, besides improving their English speaking, listening, and writing skills, will learn: -- how some of the greatest innovators in human history have applied creative thinking to achieve breakthroughs in the realms of science, business, and the arts -- how they can overcome thinking blocks, formulate effective questions, create the right environment for creative thinking, and turn their creative thoughts into action Writing assignments: 30% (10% + 20%) Presentations: (2 x 20) 40% Participation: 30% 教科書は使用しない。/Will not use textbook 特に行わない。/Will not conduct guidance National Geographic の記事を編纂した教科書を使って、専門的な英語の文章を読むための基礎力を養い、語彙を増やReading Explorer level 5 (text only) National Geographic/Cengage Learning 978-1-285-847000-9 10-308 151 149 1年 文一二(24)文三(4) 理一(5,7)理二三(19) 1年 文一二(24)文三(4) 理一(5,7)理二三(19) 1年 文一二(24)文三(4) 理一(5,7)理二三(19) 時間割コード 時間割コード 時間割コード 開講 授業科目名 英語中級 開講 授業科目名 英語中級 開講 授業科目名 英語中級 ミルズ アンソニー ナルト デリック 担当教員 担当教員 担当教員 佐竹 晶子 所属 曜限 教室 英語 所属 曜限 教室 英語 所属 曜限 教室 英語 対象 対象 対象
