These skills include the ability to argue for your opinion with supported arguments (facts, statistics, etc.), and to make effective use of PowerPoint. Although the class assignments will focus primarily on academic presentations, the skills developed throughout this class are applicable to other domains, such as the preparation of marketing pitches, job interviews, progress reports, and so on. Students will be evaluated based on their research and preparation done in class and at home, and two formal oral presentations (one with and one without the use of PowerPoint).
