It can be either a positive or negative force in society, leading to mutual gain or harm to one or more persons. In this course, we will study time-honored approaches, strategies, and techniques of persuasion as well as learn about the science behind effective persuasion. By the end of the course, students will learn how to be ethical and effective persuaders and better recognize others’ attempts to influence them. They will, in addition, hone their analytical, creative, and critical thinking skills.
